Toho Village

What is Toho Village like?

Toho Village, located on the eastern edge of central Fukuoka Prefecture, is a small village with a population of approximately 2,000, a place where you would feel a strong sense of connection with each other, which seems to be fading in urban areas. The clear water that wells up from the ground and the terraced rice paddies (Tanada) in the Take district, selected as one of the 100 Best Tanadas in Japan, are kept intact as primeval Japanese landscape, bringing a sense of nostalgia and peace to everyone.

The village is also known for potteries, where potters of Koishiwara-yaki and Takatori-yaki are spotted sporadically - you will be sure to find your favorite item.
There are many places to enjoy in nature, so you can create an unforgettable memory while you spend your day as you like.

Soeda, offering a spectacular landscape.

Soeda Town

What is Soeda Town like?

Soeda Town is the second largest town in Fukuoka Prefecture, nestled in lush greens and surrounded by nature, with approximately 80% of its land covered by forest. The town celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2021. Mount Hiko (or Hikosan), the symbol of the town, is one of Japan's Three Major Ancient Pilgrimage Routes, worshipped as the divine mountain. During the Edo period, the town flourished with approximately 3,000 people, known as "Home of yamabushi (the mountain ascetic monks)", where they devoted their days in severe training. How about taking a little trip to Soeda Town, created from such abundant nature and history?
The experience will surely add a nice touch of color to your everyday life.
